Sarah is a Mental Health Social Worker, providing counselling for adolescents and adults (ages 12 onwards) who are experiencing mental health difficulties, and for those seeking to better understand themselves.
Her approach is strongly influenced by attachment and trauma theories, and therefore relationship is seen as key in the therapeutic process. She provides a non-judgmental environment, where people’s stories are treated with care and respect.
Taking a client centred approach, Sarah draws on training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, mindfulness-based therapies such as Hakomi, Narrative Therapy, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Sarah’s clinical background is complimented by further studies in art therapies, including guided drawing.
She offers short and long-term counselling to support people with issues including:
Childhood and recent trauma
Suicidal ideation and self-harm
Sexuality and gender identity
Difficulties regulating emotions
